Bible Verse: Following Jewish burial customs, they took Jesus’ body and wrapped it, with the spices, in linen cloths. There was a garden in the place where Jesus was crucified, and in the garden was a new tomb in which no one had ever been laid. - John 19:40-41
Reflection: My favorite time as a teen, was our annual Church youth trip to the live Passion Play in Lake Wales. I remember this "part of the play" vividly, as I closely observed the emotions of Grief, Reflection, Stillness, Sadness, Anger, Confusion, being felt by those who witnessed this event. I need to place myself there, to feel these emotions...to ponder the significance of the tomb being in a garden where no one had been laid and where he gave up his life on the cross.
On this Resurrection Eve, I invite you to join me in sitting quietly, to place yourself as a witness at this event, to feel the magnitude of this moment.
Pray with me....Heavenly and Gracious Father, thank you for giving me this moment to reflect, to feel the impact. As we all anticipate the glorious day ahead, help us to use this as a renewal of our commitment to YOU and rejoice in the glory of your salvation! Amen
